Painting tip of the Month
Here is another of my monthly painting tips which I hope
will be of use to all of you who wish to try your hand at drawing and
painting or to those artists who wish to improve their painting techniques.
This month's tips: Do not be afraid to change your brush for something different. Try using a twig ! You can either use it straight or you can bash the end to make it shaggy. It gives an effect that is difficult to obtain with a conventional brush and it's cheaper too ! An old piece of mount board or cardboard no larger than a credit card
can be a useful item to carry in your paintbox. It can be used as a
scraper to give a different effect. Over time it will disintegrate and
take on different shapes because of the amount of water it absorbs and
therefore will need trimming occassionally. Equally an old credit card
can be used but you will not get the varied effects as when using card.
